Aging and exposure to the sun take their toll on our skin, creating lines, wrinkles, and changes in texture and colour. This can affect the face as well as the neck, chest, cleavage, arms and hands. Now, using the state of the art DiamondTome™ wands from Altair Instruments Inc. micro-exfoliation can lessen the effects of aging. The DiamondTone™ wand combines the polishing action of diamonds and the cleansing action of vacuum.
Micro-exfoliation reduces wrinkles and improves skin texture and colour by removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it more supple and vibrant. Micro-exfoliation also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the skin’s surface creating a healthier and firmer appearance. This gentle and effective treatment attenuates wrinkles and brown spots around the eyes, lips and neck and has a beneficial effect on acne problems that don’t respond to other treatments.
An excellent alternative to chemical peels, micro-exfoliation is non-invasive, painless and requires no recovery time. Leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists regard the NewAppeel™ system as more gentle and effective than other exfoliating systems. The duration and number of treatments varies depending on skin type and condition. Results are gradual but highly effective. Most people experience softer, smoother skin after their first treatment.
Ideal for a special event or as part of a program of overall skin rejuvenation. Normal activities may be resumed immediately after treatment. One treatment takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
To maintain the results of Micro-exfoliation, your technician may recommend several follow-up sessions. If after treatment your skin begins to peel, normal due to cell regeneration, your technician will also recommend the use of a sunscreen and hydrating cream.
Because there is a risk of scars or other skin injuries micro-exfoliation is not recommended for patients who are currently using or have used Accutane acne medication for six months prior to the start of treatments. Patients suffering from herpes labialis, are advised to take the appropriate medication before receiving the treatment as micro-exfoliation has been known to stimulate the virus.
